“That’s just how they are” — Thiruma’s one-word reply to a question on the TVK event.
The speech delivered by Makkal Needhi Maiam leader Kamal Haasan during the budget session became a major talking point across Tamil Nadu. In that speech, he strongly criticised Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the BJP.
In this context, when Vanathi Srinivasan was asked about it, she responded, “I couldn’t understand what he spoke. That’s why the people of Coimbatore sent him back.”
Following this, VCK (Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi) leader Thol. Thirumavalavan met the press in Chennai last night and said:
“When Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman delivered a speech claiming to quote someone, she revealed her deep-rooted hatred by saying that ‘Tamil is a language not even fit for begging.’ This reflects the mindset of those associated with the BJP.
No further proof is needed to show that they possess an attitude hostile to the Tamil language, Tamil Nadu, and the Tamil people. Our Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, the founder of Makkal Needhi Maiam, Kamal Haasan, has given a fitting reply to this.
On behalf of the VCK, I extend my appreciation and gratitude to him. Vanathi Srinivasan has criticised Kamal Haasan by saying that she could not understand what he spoke.
Soon, a committee will be formed to prepare our election manifesto. There is nothing to comment on actor Vijay dancing at the third anniversary celebration of TVK, or on singer Velmurugan singing there. That’s just how they are.”
