Impeachment Motion Notice:

Justice G.R. Swaminathan Must Voluntarily Resign! - VCK Party Statement!

We have submitted a petition yesterday, signed by over a hundred Members of Parliament, to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha (House of the People) requesting the impeachment of Justice G.R. Swaminathan. Following this, according to the Parliamentary procedure, the Lok Sabha Speaker must immediately constitute an Inquiry Committee consisting of a Supreme Court Justice, a High Court Chief Justice, and a legal expert. Therefore, on behalf of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), we urge the Lok Sabha Speaker to take appropriate action swiftly.

In the 'Impeachment Notice' against Justice G.R. Swaminathan, we have pointed out charges including that he acts in a one-sided manner and contrary to the Constitution; he works in support of a specific lawyer; and he misuses his power in favor of a particular caste.

In this situation, if he continues to hear cases, he will cause further confusion in Tamil Nadu. The order he issued yesterday is a testimony to that. Overstepping the bounds of the 'Contempt of Court' case, he has included the Chief Secretary of the Government of Tamil Nadu, the Director General of Police (DGP), and the Union Home Secretary of the Government of India, who are unrelated to the case, and summoned them for inquiry. This is not only a violation of the law but also an insult to the State and Union governments. In particular, including the Union Home Secretary of the Government of India in this contempt of court case appears to be with an ulterior motive. What role does the Union Home Secretary of the Government of India have in this? What does he expect from him? What does he want the Home Secretary to do regarding the contempt of court? Sending summons to these three, overstepping jurisdiction, does not seem to be a decision he made alone. It appears that a conspiratorial group is working behind him. We have to conclude that he is trying to further complicate the Thiruparankundram issue and instigate religious fundamentalist politics.

Therefore, we request the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court not to allot any cases to him in the current situation.

As an 'Impeachment Notice' has been served against him, we also request that he voluntarily resign to facilitate an unimpeded inquiry against him.
